CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Approximately $3.6 million will be used to repair seven roads in Mecklenburg County starting as soon as next month, the North Carolina Department of Transportation announced the spending Thursday. The work will include repairs over a total of approximately 8.4 miles of primary and secondary roads.
The roads being repaired are:
- N.C. 16 (Brookshire Boulevard) between Fred D. Alexander Boulevard and the bridge over Long Creek
- U.S. 29 (Graham Street/Dalton Avenue) between the overpass at Music Factory Boulevard and North Tryon Street
- Hamilton Road between Youngblood and Steele Creek roads
- Dalton Avenue between Statesville Avenue and Graham Street
- Trailer Drive/Rotary Drive from Graham Street to the end-of-state maintenance
- Graham Street between Armour Drive and Dalton Avenue
- University City Boulevard between Periwinkle Avenue and the I-85 overpass
Repairs will include milling, which is the removal of the top surface of old asphalt, resurfacing with new asphalt, and shoulder reconstruction.
Work could start as soon as March and should be completed by fall 2025.
