CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were detained when a police pursuit ended in a crash along West W.T. Harris Boulevard in north Charlotte Monday afternoon.
The crash happened at the intersection of West W.T. Harris Boulevard and Lakeview Road around 1 p.m. The crash knocked down power lines, which forced crews to close the road, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police announced.
It's unclear when the road will fully reopen to traffic. Drivers can take Old Statesville Road to access I-77 from I-85, while drivers heading north can follow Old Statesville Road into Huntersville.
Officers were pursuing a suspect who was wanted in connection with a shooting into a home on Rachel Street on Oct. 26, according to CMPD. A woman told police the suspects shot her vehicle and the home while she was inside, the police report states.
CMPD has not identified the suspects or announced any formal charges at this time. For the latest breaking news, weather and traffic alerts, download the WCNC Charlotte mobile app.
