These roads will close for Charlotte Pride Festival

The Charlotte Pride Festival is this weekend with road closures for the event starting Friday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Pride Festival returns to Uptown Charlotte this Saturday, Aug. 17 and Sunday, Aug. 18.

It's the city's largest street festival. Set-up for the festival and parade begins on Friday. 

Here are the road closures you need to be aware of:

  • Starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, South Tryon Street will close between Morehead Street and Brooklyn Village Avenue.
  • Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, the closure of Tryon Street. will extend beyond Brooklyn Village Avenue to Fourth Street.
  • Also at 6 p.m. on Friday, Levine Avenue of the Arts will close between South Church Street and South Tryon Street. Good Samaritan Way will close between Church Street and College Street.

All road closures are expected to reopen at midnight Sunday night.
