North Charlotte road reopens after fuel spill near I-485

The road was closed near Vance Davis Drive and I-485 due to a fuel spill.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A section of Old Statesville Road is back open after a fuel spill closed it for hours on Friday, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said. 

The road was closed near the intersection with Vance Davis Drive, which is just off Interstate 485. The closure is just south of Huntersville, near Eastfield Road.

Multiple CMPD officers were on the scene directing traffic. The road reopened around 2:30 p.m. 

Drivers can use Statesville Road as an alternate route to and from Huntersville in the Northlake area.
