CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Marathon is sold out for only the second time in its 20-year history.
The Charlotte Marathon is on Saturday, Nov. 16, this year. Stretching 26.2 miles from Uptown Charlotte through numerous neighborhoods before returning to Uptown. This means numerous lanes and roads will be closed causing more traffic than usual on a Saturday.
The marathon starts on Tryon St at Brooklyn Village Pkwy in Uptown Charlotte at 7:20 a.m. for the Full and Half Marathon. The start then closes 10 minutes later at 7:30 a.m.. The Chick-fil-A 5K begins at 7:35 a.m..

- Chick-fil-A 5K: 7:35 a.m. (start closes at 7:45 a.m.)
From there, runners will travel through the neighborhoods of East Over, Myers Park, Dilworth, Southend, Wilmore, NoDa, Plaza Midwood and Greenway before finishing again in Uptown. At times, the race course revisits some neighborhoods. Officials say roads should be re-opened by 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

What roads will be closed?
These roads will be unrestricted to runners which means they are closed to vehicle traffic:
- South Tryon Street to Morehead Street
- Morehead Street to College Street
- 4th Street blocked until McDowell but 2-3 lanes blocked between Charlottetown and Torrence
- Outbound lanes on Randolph
- Colville to Scotland Ave
- Scotland to Providence Rd
- Providence road blocked until Hanson Drive but one lane open at Myers Park Drive for residents
- Hampton Ave to Oxford
- Oxford to Beverly Drive
- Beverly Drive to Rensford Ave
- Right side of road closed on Sharon Road and East Queens Road
- Right two lanes and median closed on E/W Queens Road (Selwyn is clear)
- Queens Road W right lanes closed at Princeton Ave
- Right lanes closed onto Kings Drive to Atrium Entrance
- Two left lanes on Morehead to Kenilworth Ave where runners will be facing traffic
- Left half of road onto Dilworth Road
- Left curb lane on East Morehead Street , crossing Euclid and onto South Tryon
- Camden Road to Kingston Ave
- Kingston to S. Mint had right half closed
- Right half closed from South Mint Street to Summit Ave to Morehead again
