ROCK HILL, S.C. — All lanes of Interstate 77 have fully reopened in Rock Hill after a crash Monday morning involving an overturned tractor-trailer truck.
Around 7:30 a.m., the crash closed the southbound lanes near Exit 75 for Porter Road.
Photos shared by the York County Sheriff's Office showed a tractor-trailer blocking the highway. There were significant traffic backups on I-77 southbound even after officials managed to get one of the two lanes reopened.
The crash involved the truck and two other cars, officials said.
I-77 crash detour
Drivers were asked to use patience and expect delays. South Carolina Highway Patrol and York County deputies created a detour north of the crash site to get drivers through the area.
At the time, southbound traffic was being diverted onto Anderson Road. Drivers could follow Anderson Road to Porter Road, where they can get back on I-77 beyond the crash site.
