CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Parts of Interstate 85 southbound in Charlotte were shut down following a major crash near the Statesville Avenue exit Sunday.
The Charlotte Fire Department confirmed details of the incident via Twitter around 12:26 p.m.
The DriveNC.gov website no longer listed the accident on its website as of 8 p.m.

The department is asking drivers to avoid the area and expect major delays.
