CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 85 in north Charlotte early Friday, officials said.
The crash happened around 2 a.m. on the southbound side of I-85 near the Beatties Ford Road exit and the interchange with Interstate 77.
Medic confirmed one person was pronounced dead at the scene. The southbound lanes of I-85 were closed for about two hours while crews worked to clear the road and investigate the crash. North Carolina State Highway Patrol hasn't identified the person who died or said what caused the crash.
