LANCASTER, S.C. — One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer in Lancaster County on Tuesday night, state troopers said.
South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a crash on Pageland Highway, about 6 miles east of Lancaster, around 9 p.m. on Oct. 22. Troopers said three vehicles were involved in the crash.
The driver of a 2002 Buick was traveling east on Pageland Highway when the driver ran into a Mack tractor-trailer near the intersection with Herschel Plyler Road, investigators said. The collision forced the tractor-trailer into a Chevy pickup truck that was driving beside it. The driver of the Chevy pickup truck ran off the road and crashed into a mailbox. Troopers said four people inside the Chevy were not hurt in the collision.
The driver of the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt in the crash.
