CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Part of I-485 Inner was shut down late Thursday night after a deadly crash.
Medic confirmed they responded on the interstate near Carolina Place Mall shortly after 11 p.m. One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but a second person was declared dead.
A stretch of the highway was shut down during the investigation. The road was not expected to reopen until nearly 3 a.m. Friday morning.
As of publication, no details about how the crash happened were available.
