I-77 reopened after crash closes several lanes in Charlotte, causes serious injuries

According to a CMPD alert, all northbound lanes were impacted near Lasalle Street.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police urged drivers to avoid northbound lanes of I-77 near Lasalle Street, after a crash involving several vehicles. Transportation officials report the crash around mile marker 12.6, south of the junction with I-85.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police sent the warning out around 10 p.m. Tuesday, noting the department's officers were assisting State Highway Patrol with the scene. Around 11:45 p.m., highway officials confirmed the crash had been cleared.

MEDIC officials said the agency's crews transported one person from the scene with life-threatening injuries.
