CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person has died and two others were hurt after a crash on the Interstate 277 inner loop early Tuesday morning.
One of the people involved in the crash was taken to the hospital with severe injuries and later died, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Medic confirmed their paramedics had responded to the crash on I-277 near Interstate 77 around 3 a.m., noting the two other people who were injured had minor injuries. CMPD did not mention the other injuries in its news release on the death investigation.
A portion of the freeway was closed due to the investigation, impacting traffic near the exit for Brooklyn Village Avenue and South Boulevard. The road reopened around 9 a.m.
