Crash shuts down section of I-485 near Huntersville

A multi-vehicle crash blocked all lanes of Interstate 485 near Old Statesville Road in north Charlotte Wednesday morning.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A ramp from Interstate 485's outer loop is closed near Interstate 77 in north Charlotte due to a crash, officials said.

A multi-vehicle crash happened in the area near Old Statesville Road and I-77 on I-485 around 9 a.m. Multiple crews responded to the scene. Medic confirmed two people were taken to the hospital with injuries that aren't considered life-threatening.

One lane of the ramp from I-485 outer to I-77 north is closed just past Old Statesville Road, according to NCDOT. Drivers who normally take I-485 to I-77 north can take Old Statesville Road to Gilead Road and rejoin I-77 at Exit 23.
