CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Multiple lanes of Interstate-485 were closed in northwest Charlotte after a crash Wednesday morning. One person died in the crash and two others were injured, according to Medic.
It happened around 5:30 a.m. near Bellhaven Boulevard, not far from Brookshire Boulevard.
The entire inner loop in that area opened around 9:45 a.m., and the left lane of the outer loop reopened around 9 a.m.
A WCNC Charlotte crew at the scene saw two vehicles involved in the crash. Medic said of the two people who were injured, one had serious injuries and one had minor injuries.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department confirmed that North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating.
