IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Traffic is backed up for miles on Interstate 77 due to a fatal crash in southern Iredell County.
Multiple crews responded to a crash on the northbound side of I-77 near Exit 31 for Langtree Road around 3 p.m. As of 3:30 p.m., four of five lanes are closed. Traffic is stretching back into Davidson and northern Mecklenburg County.
Drivers should avoid the area and find an alternate route. U.S. 21 and North Carolina 115 can be used as alternate routes into Mooresville.
