MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were hurt during a crash on Interstate 85 on Saturday afternoon, according to Medic.
It happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. on I-85 northbound, just after Exit 48 for Interstate 485.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation confirmed three of six lanes were closed as a result of the crash. The right three lanes after Exit 48 were expected to remain closed until as late as 8 p.m., but the lanes ultimately reopened shortly before 6 p.m.
Medic said one person had life-threatening injuries and another had serious injuries. Both were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated.
