CHARLOTTE, N.C. — All lanes of Interstate 85 are back open after a crash caused significant delays in north Charlotte Monday morning.

According to NCDOT, the crash happened a few minutes before 6 a.m. near Exits 38 and 39, for Statesville Road and Interstate 77. At one time, four of five southbound lanes were closed.

The road reopened a little after 6:30 a.m., but delays formed on the interstate all the way back to Cabarrus County. Drivers in the Concord and Kannapolis areas reported drive times up to an hour into Uptown due to the crash.
