CHARLOTTE, N.C. — All lanes of the Interstate 277 inner loop are back open after a medical emergency prompted a brief shutdown on Tuesday morning, officials said.
It happened near Exit 1E for Brooklyn Village Avenue and South Boulevard. Multiple Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers were on the scene, diverting traffic off I-277. All traffic was detoured from the inner loop of the John Belk Freeway due to a mental health call. No further details were provided by Medic to CMPD about the situation.
The road reopened around 8:30 a.m.
