Lanes reopen after crash on I-77 southbound

At one point, two of three lanes were closed as a result of the crash.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — All lanes of Interstate 77 southbound ahead of Exit 4 for Nations Ford Road have reopened, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

At one point, two of three lanes of I-77 were closed. The right shoulder remained closed for longer.

The closure came after a crash around 6:30 a.m. Monday. Medic said it responded to the crash, but the patient refused to be taken to the hospital.

The closure was expected to result in a high impact to traffic throughout the morning commute.
