GASTONIA, N.C. — A Gaston County intersection is shut down due to an overturned tractor-trailer that spilled fuel on Tuesday, officials confirmed.
The crash happened at the intersection of Oates Road and Dallas-Bessemer City Highway (North Carolina 274) a little before 2 p.m. A tractor-trailer flipped onto its side and spilled diesel fuel, requiring hazmat crews to respond.
North Carolina 275, which meets with Dallas-Bessemer City Highway, is expected to be closed through at least 4 p.m. North Carolina 274 is closed in both directions between Bessemer City Road and Isley Drive, according to North Carolina DOT.
