These DMV locations are open on Saturday mornings now, walk-ins allowed

This increased availability started June 8 and be available through Aug. 24.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles will have Saturday hours at 16 key driver license offices across the state starting this weekend. 

People wanting to get driver's licenses or ID cards, renew their IDs or change addresses, get REAL ID issued, or do road tests if they've already done the knowledge and written tests can take advantage of these new hours.

“I continue to be focused on offering more opportunities for customers to receive services both online and during expanded hours,” Commissioner Wayne Goodwin said. “Opening for Saturday hours at many of our busiest locations statewide is what customers want, need, and have requested.”

This increased availability started June 8 and be available through Aug. 24. The additional hours will be from 8 a.m. to noon on those Saturdays. The NCDMV said appointments are not necessary.

  • Asheville, 1624 Patton Ave.
  • Charlotte North, 9711 David Taylor Drive
  • Charlotte South, 201 W. Arrowood Road, Suite H
  • Fayetteville, 831 Elm St. (Eutaw Village)
  • Graham, 111 E. Crescent Square
  • Greensboro, 2391 Coliseum Blvd.
  • Greenville, 4651 N. Creek Drive
  • Huntersville, 12101 Mount Holly-Huntersville Road
  • Jacksonville, 299 Wilmington Hwy.
  • Monroe, 3122 U.S. Hwy. 74 W.
  • Raleigh North, 2431 Spring Forest Road, Suite 101 (Spring Forest Pavilion)
  • Raleigh West, 3231 Avent Ferry Road 
  • Salisbury, US 29 S, 5780 South Main St.
  • Wilmington, 2390 Carolina Beach Road, Suite 104 (South Square Plaza)
  • Winston-Salem, 2001 Silas Creek Pkwy.

There are some services NCDMV offers online, so people should check there first to see if the service they want can be done there.
