CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina Highway Patrol reports one person was killed in a crash on I-85 northbound early Thursday morning.
According to Trooper Pierce, the crash happened on the northbound side of I-85 near 485 in West Charlotte. According to investigators, a tractor-trailer was stopped in the right lane due to heavy traffic traveling northbound. Officials said a 2003 Toyota Camry that was also traveling in the right lane failed to reduce speed and collided into the rear of a tractor-trailer, killing the driver on impact.
Troopers have identified the woman killed as 23-year-old Sarah Alexandria Cabe.
The driver of the Tractor-trailer was not injured.
