HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — An overturned cement truck caused big delays for drivers in Huntersville on Tuesday.
The truck tipped over onto its side along Old Statesville Road, directly across from Lake Norman Charter School. The northbound side of North Carolina 115 was blocked while crews worked to tow the truck away and clean up fuel that leaked onto the ground.
No one was hurt in the crash, according to the Huntersville Fire Department, which initially responded to reports that someone was trapped inside the truck.
Drivers were told to avoid Old Statesville Road/North Carolina 115 until further notice. Statesville Road/U.S. 21 was suggested as an alternate route. Drivers could have also taken Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road to Old Statesville Road north of the crash location.
The crash scene appeared to be cleared after a few hours.
