CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A portion of Providence Road between Strawberry Hill Drive and Meadowood Lane was closed after a car hit two utility poles on Friday afternoon, causing low-hanging telephone lines across both directions.
Duke Energy estimated that the road would be shut down for approximately four to five hours, including during the Friday evening commute, as repairs were made. However, the efforts took longer than expected.
NCDOT said the lanes reopened on Saturday afternoon.
