Vehicle flips over after crashing into school bus in south Charlotte

One person suffered minor injuries, according to Medic.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was hurt when two vehicles crashed into a school bus on Wednesday, officials confirmed. 

The crash happened near the intersection of Randolph Road and McAlway Road, just north of the Cotswold Village shopping center around 8:15 a.m. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said Bus 9 was traveling to Piedmont Middle School and stopped at the intersection when two other vehicles collided, sending one of the vehicle into the bus.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash flipped over. Another vehicle suffered heavy damage to the front end and was towed away from the scene. CMS confirmed that three students and the bus driver were not hurt in the collision. 

Medic said one person suffered minor injuries in the crash. A section of Randolph Road was closed for a period of time while crews worked to clear the scene and investigate the crash. CMS said all of the students were taken to school without further incident.
