South Boulevard reopens after crash takes down power lines

The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A section of South Boulevard was closed for hours Tuesday after a Publix truck knocked down power lines at Magnolia Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Officials urged drivers to use alternate routes as crews work to remove and restore power lines at the intersection.

As of 3:45 p.m., the road was reopened to traffic after utility work in the area.
