A WCNC Charlotte crew at the scene on Billy Graham Parkway saw the moments the vehicle was revealed under the branches.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte Fire Department crew removed several branches from a North Carolina State Highway Patrol state trooper car that appeared to be completely covered by a large bush.

The unusual incident started around 4:30 a.m. after a crash was reported on southbound Billy Graham Parkway at R.C. Josh Birmingham Parkway, which backed up traffic all the way to Wilkinson Boulevard.

A WCNC Charlotte crew arrived at the scene on Billy Graham Parkway and noticed a vehicle that looked like it had run off the road. Medic said one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

First responders worked to remove the seemingly burned vehicle from the side of the road. WCNC Charlotte saw the moments the vehicle was revealed from under the branches. The vehicle had been involved in a vehicle fire around 7 a.m. and was towed away by 8:30 a.m.

Officials have not confirmed if the vehicle fire was related to that crash. Southbound lanes have since reopened.
