Statesville Avenue ramps along I-77 in Charlotte closed for up to 2 weeks

The closures are expected to be in place until 6 a.m. Monday, April 11.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two major ramps in north Charlotte are expected to remain closed for the next two weeks

Crews with North Carolina Department of Transportation closed the exit ramps from Interstate North (exit 13A) and I-85 North (exit 39) to Statesville Avenue at 9 p.m. Friday.

The closures are expected to be in place until 6 a.m. Monday, April 11. Closing the ramps will allow workers to safely remove and rebuild the existing concrete surface on the ramps.

The closure is part of a $15.3 million contract awarded last June to improve approximately seven miles of I-85 between exits 36 and 42.

While the ramps remain closed, the following detours will be in place for drivers:

  • I-77 North/South: Take exit 12 (LaSalle Street) to access Statesville Avenue.
  • I-85 North: Take exit 38 (I-77), continuing south to exit 12 (LaSalle Street) to return to Statesville Avenue.
