ROCK HILL, S.C. — A 15-year-old girl was killed and three others were hurt when a driver going the wrong way crashed into a golf cart in Rock Hill on Thursday night, police said.
Rock Hill Police responded to a crash on Laurel Creek Drive just after 10 p.m. Thursday. When officers arrived, they were told six people were on the golf cart when it was hit by a Honda CRV. One of the riders, a 15-year-old, later identified as Marlie Sullivan, died at the scene. Three others were taken to Piedmont Medical Center and are expected to recover.
Officers said the golf cart was traveling north on Laurel Creek Drive when the Honda, which was in the wrong lane, hit the golf cart head-on. Detectives haven't identified the driver of the Honda and it's unclear if any charges will be filed. The investigation is ongoing.
Editor's Note: Rock Hill Police initially said the victim was 16 years old. Detectives corrected her age to 15.
