17-year-old killed in deadly crash on US-321 in Dallas

The Gaston County community gathered Tuesday night to remember the life of 17-year-old Walker Hayes, who died in the crash.

DALLAS, N.C. — US-321 southbound in Dallas is open after being closed due to a fatal vehicle crash that killed one person, according to the Dallas Police Department.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The Gaston County community gathered Tuesday night to remember the life of 17-year-old Walker Hayes, who died in the crash. Friends and family came together for a candlelight vigil in his honor. 

Hayes was a student at Highland School of Technology. 

Officials said the crash is under investigation at this time.
