Busy west Charlotte road reopens after crash causes downed power lines

Duke Energy crews were seen on Wilkinson Boulevard working on the scene.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A busy west Charlotte road has reopened after crews worked to clear power lines and a power pole following a crash, police said.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said outbound lanes of Wilkinson Boulevard between Weyland Avenue and Ashley Road are closed after an accident knocked down power lines across the roadway.

No word on whether there were any injuries from the crash at this time.
