CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The North Carolina Highway Patrol confirms a wrong-way driver was killed after crashing into a tractor-trailer on I-485 early Wednesday morning.
According to troopers, the crash happened at around 3:45 a.m. on I-485 near Moores Chapel Road. Troopers report the driver in the tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash.
Authorities are still trying to identify the victim.
Traffic on I-485 was diverted onto the exit ramp to Moores Chapel Road and back onto I-485 for a couple of hours early Wednesday morning.
