CONCORD, N.C. — Budget airline Avelo Airlines announced it will start offering nonstop service from Concord-Padgett Regional Airport to Lakeland, Florida, starting this week.
Avelo will offer twice-weekly flights between Charlotte and Lakeland on Thursdays and Sundays. The company will use Boeing 737 planes for the flights. One-way fares start at $46.
“We are delighted to offer Charlotte-area travelers a direct flight into the heart of Central Florida," Avelo Airlines CEO Andrew Levy said. "Customers flying between Concord-Padgett and Lakeland can expect a smoother, quicker travel experience that Avelo provides in the smaller and more convenient airports we serve. We also expect Floridians to have great interest in the attractions of the Charlotte region.”
In addition to the Florida routes, Avelo will offer five additional routes from Concord starting in November. The airline will have regular flights to Boston/Manchester, Hartford, Philadelphia/Wilmington, and two New York cities Albany and Rochester. This brings Avelo's total number of courts from Concord to seven.
