Plane lands safely, alert canceled at Charlotte Douglas International Airport

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An alert was called at Charlotte Douglas International Airport early Friday afternoon, but was canceled as the plane landed safely, the airport confirmed to WCNC Charlotte.

Also Friday afternoon, the Charlotte Fire Department responded to the airport regarding a possible fire, but crews weren't able to find any flames or smoke.

These two incidents do not appear to be connected at this time.
