CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, that was heading to Houston, Texas, safely landed in Atlanta, Georgia, after being diverted Wednesday morning.
United Airlines confirmed Flight 575 was diverted due to a mechanical issue. The Federal Aviation Administration told WCNC Charlotte's news partner 11Alive that the crew on board reported a possible engine issue.
The flight landed safely in Atlanta, and the 131 passengers on board deplaned normally. The passengers were then transferred to a different aircraft for a new flight to Houston, scheduled to land at 11:30 a.m.
The FAA will investigate the incident.
