CHARLOTTE, N.C. — If a vacation seems out of reach and out of mind there might have some data to change that.
A new analysis from flight booking magazine Travel + Leisure says plane tickets are going to be cheaper heading into 2024. Going.com says airfare dropped 24% from May 2022.
Travel + Leisure cited an analysis showing prices are currently down 12% from the same time last year.

Travelers may see fares even lower than pre-pandemic prices. It's why the TODAY show caught up with a travel expert to explain the change in trend.
"Airfare has been on this downward trend 13 out of the last 19 months," Katy Nastro, a travel expert with Going said. "We haven't really seen these prices, or the average price of airfare being this low since about 2009. And when you adjust for inflation, it's about 40% cheaper than it was a decade ago."
Other advice includes keeping an eye out on prices using tracking apps or websites like Hopper, Skyscanner and Google Flights.
