CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tuesday was another day of airport woes at Charlotte Douglas International Airport for travelers facing flight cancellations and delays.
On Monday, nearly 25% of flights into and out of Charlotte were experiencing delays, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. The numbers were nearly identical headed into the late afternoon hours on Tuesday.
Nearing 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Charlotte was seeing nearly 400 delays and 43 cancellations, according to FlightAware. At the same time the day prior, Charlotte too was experiencing 422 flights either delayed arriving or departing the city's airport, according to FlightAware.
Passengers are facing deja vu.
Delays have been persistent ever since Friday's global cyber shutdown grounded flights and disrupted technical at airlines. On Tuesday, federal regulators announced an investigation into Delta Air Lines, which is still struggling to restore operations more than four full days after a faulty software update caused technological havoc worldwide and disrupted global air travel.
Delta was already seeing over a thousand flight cancellations globally on Tuesday alone, according to FlightAware.
Scattered storms in Charlotte and at other airports have also contributed to delays.

On Monday, delays and cancellations resulted in being ranked among the top ten airports worldwide experiencing problems, according to FlightAware.
An estimated 174 flights destined for Charlotte were delayed, according to FlightAware. That equals about 19% of total flights inbound to Charlotte.
About 27 flights originally scheduled for Charlotte had been canceled, according to FlightAware. That equaled about 3% of the day's inbound flights.
Passengers going outbound from Charlotte were having equal trouble.
FlightAware said 197, or about 22%, of outbound flights were delayed. At least 13 flights, or about 1% of the day's schedule, had been canceled outbound.
While most flights at Charlotte Douglas International Airport are operated by American Airlines, Delta had the greatest number of delays and cancelations on Monday, according to FlightAware. At 3 p.m., Delta had experienced 1285 delays, or the equivalent of about 34% of their flight schedule, and 816 cancelations, about 21% of their flight schedule, according to FlightAware. By contrast, American Airlines had 923 delays, or about 25% of their schedule, and 49 cancelations, about 1% of their schedule.
