CATS seeking art for new Huntersville park and ride

A single artist will be chosen to design artwork for a new CATS park and ride.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — The Charlotte Area Transit System will award $20,000 to an artist to design art for the new Hambright Park and Ride in Huntersville.

"The Hambright Park & Ride will be a mobility hub to provide rapid transit services to the Town of Huntersville and surrounding areas by utilizing the newly constructed express lane direct connect," CATS says in its announcement. 

CATS is seeking an artist from either North Carolina or South Carolina. Online submissions for art concepts can be submitted until March 31 on the CATS website.

The Hambright Park and Ride features approximately 500 parking spots. It is located between Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road and Interstate 77 on Hambright Road.
