Miracle on the Hudson plane going into storage

The plane is currently housed in a 40,000 square foot hangar at the Carolinas Aviation Museum.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This weekend could be the last chance to see the Miracle on the Hudson plane for at least two and a half years.

In 2009, the plane bound for Charlotte was forced to land on the Hudson River after a bird strike.

The plane is currently housed in a 40,000 square foot hangar at the Carolinas Aviation Museum.

But it's closing temporarily on Sunday as it searches for a new location.

The museum plans to reopen in 2022.
