Cherry neighborhood in Charlotte impacted by storm-related power outage, Duke Energy says

The agency confirmed there were two broken poles and a damaged line from a downed tree in the Cherry neighborhood.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Crews are working to restore power to a people in Charlotte neighborhood after storms entered the region on Thursday, March 31. 

According to the Duke Energy power outage map, hundreds of customers in the Cherry neighborhood were experiencing the outage at one point. 

WCNC Charlotte received photos of the damage, which showed damage on S. Torrence Street and Main Street.

Duke Energy confirmed two broken poles and damaged line from a downed tree. The estimate for restoration for the remaining 99 customers impacted is scheduled for 8 a.m. on April 1. More than 900 people were impacted earlier in the day.
