CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
This Evening & Overnight
Sky conditions are mostly clear to partly cloudy overnight with high cloud cover streaming in. Lows will be chilly again Saturday morning in the mid-upper 30s. Frost is unlikely across the metro due to breezy winds 10 - 15 mph.
Mountains: Snow & Cold
The first widespread snow accumulation of the season in the mountains wraps up overnight. So far, the highest totals have been recorded in Beech and Sugar mountains with seven to nine inches.
It'll still be very cold Saturday morning with lows in the 20s and feels-like temperatures in the teens. Gusty winds will still cause some blowing snow and dangerous driving conditions so please be weather aware and cautious.
Charlotte: Weekend Forecast
Lows are in the mid-upper 30s Saturday morning with mostly sunny conditions in the afternoon. Highs reach the upper 50s.
Winds lower Saturday night allowing for lows to fall to the mid 30s. While it'll be a touch above freezing, it'll be the first chance for frost in the metro. Highs are in the mid 60s with abundant sunshine Sunday afternoon.
Next Week
It'll be unseasonably warm again next week with two opportunities for the rain. The first comes with a weak front on Tuesday with the second storm system arriving Thanksgiving into early on Black Friday.
This second front brings the coldest air of the season (again). We'll end November and begin December with lows in the upper 20s and highs only in the mid 40s. Get ready, folks, because winter is coming!
