The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Ashe, Watauga, and Avery counties in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday evening until 4 p.m. Thursday. This includes Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, West Jefferson, Ingalls and Newland.
