Band donating proceeds from 2 shows to BeLoved Asheville after canceling show due to Helene

The band said proceeds from the shows in Wilmington and Raleigh will go to the nonprofit BeLoved Asheville.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The band Vampire Weekend said they will donate proceeds from two shows to an Asheville nonprofit after having to cancel an upcoming show in Asheville due to the damages left behind by Hurricane Helene.

Vampire Weekend was slated to perform at the venue Rabbit Rabbit on Oct. 13. In the wake of the recovery efforts, the band announced it would donate proceeds from the North Carolina shows in Wilmington on Oct. 8 and Raleigh on Oct. 9 to BeLoved Asheville.

"Our hearts are with the good people of Asheville, their loved ones and all affected by this terrible storm," the band said in a post on social media. "We hope for a speedy recovery for a city we love, and hope to see you all soon."

Ticketholders who purchased their tickets for the Asheville show through Etix will receive an automatic refund, though the band said third-party ticket purchases will have to be handled through the point of purchase.

BeLoved Asheville has been working to support the community in multiple ways in the aftermath of Helene, including by carrying buckets of water to flush toilets for older adults who are unable to lift them, bringing essential supplies directly to people in need, and more.
