Mild temperatures with a few showers for the Charlotte area on Tuesday

The WCNC Charlotte Weather Impact team is breaking down the rain chance for Thanksgiving Day.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —

Today & Wednesday

Widely scattered showers will move through the Carolinas this morning.  It will be a warm afternoon with highs in the upper 60s.  Mostly clear tonight with lows in the upper 30s.  Wednesday will be cooler, with afternoon temperatures in the low 60s.

Thanksgiving & Beyond

A second, stronger storm system moves into our region Wednesday night through Thursday morning. The timing is still a bit uncertain, but prepare for rain impacting your plans, at least in the morning. There will be pockets of moderate-to-heavy rain at times but it'll be more of a nuisance than anything.

After the storm system clears, it'll be a cooler and sunny Friday with highs in the low 50s. The coldest air of the season shuffles in by the weekend and beyond into December. This will be a big shock with lows in the 20s and highs struggling to reach the mid-upper 40s!

While it won't happen in Charlotte, watch for snow showers in the mountains both Friday and Saturday mornings, too.
