Price Lake closed after Fred's remains damage dam gate

Almost all of the lake's water was drained because of the opening.

BLOWING ROCK, N.C. — A popular lake along the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed after much of the water was drained by dam damage.

The National Park Service confirmed Tuesday that Price Lake, located near Blowing Rock, was closed. The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred left one of the dam's gates open in its wake, and the damage kept it in the open position.
