CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- Firefighters have made significant progress on a grass fire burning on Bakers Mountain.
The fire is fully contained as of Wednesday night, after it crawled over 40 acres of land. Fire crews will remain on scene to monitor hot spots and flare ups.
Crews and trucks from many local departments have responded to the fire.
No injuries have been reported.
The official cause has not been determined.
Bakers Mountain Park is set to reopen Friday morning at 8 and will resume normal operating hours.
