Get ready for the heat!
Southerly winds will boost temperatures into the 90s this week, and with dew points in the 60s and 70s most of the week, it will feel even hotter!
Feel-like temperatures will soar into the upper 90s and likely the low 100s by the end of the week. A Heat Advisory could do into effect, especially across our southern counties, where heat index values could range from 100° - 105°+.
If you must be outdoors when the heat is most intense, know the signs of heatstroke and heat exhaustion. If you or someone you know is experiencing a heat stroke, dial 911 immediately!
Also, remember to look before you lock! The temperature inside of a vehicle rises quickly! With an air temperature of 90°, after only 10 minutes the temperature inside a car jumps to 110°.
After 30 minutes, the temperature climbs to just over 120°.
And after one hour, the temperature inside the vehicle shoots up to just over 130°.
Stay safe and stay cool if you have to be outdoors, especially for an extended amount of time.
