CONCORD, N.C. — A portion of Country Club Drive Northeast in Concord will be closed for nine months.
Beginning April 12, the road will be closed to any thru traffic between Branchview Drive Northeast (Highway 3) and Concord Parkway North (Highway 29). The location is near Carolina Mall and the interchange with Interstate 85.
The roadway is expected to be closed for approximately nine months as crews repair a culvert associated with Three Mile Branch creek.
"The Country Club Drive culvert replacement project consists of the removal of the existing pipe culverts and the construction of a double-barrel concrete culvert and associated services, which includes relocation of storm sewer lines, relocation of water mains, coordination with existing utilities, and roadway pavement reconstruction," the city said in a released statement.
Local businesses and residences on Country Club Drive can continue to use the road during the repairs. For all other drivers, there will be two detours in place during the closure on Lake Concord Road and Concord Parkway North.
