GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Police say a man was shot, robbed, and kidnapped at his jewelry store on Wednesday.
Four men arrived at the victim's jewelry store in Gastonia on Wednesday night, according to the Belmont Police Department.
The men shot and robbed the victim at the jewelry store before kidnapping him and dropping him off at his home in Belmont, according to police.
Officers were called to the Belmont scene around 8:21 p.m.
The victim was shot in the back and is being treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
No information on the suspects was released and police believe they left the area.
This is the second shooting incident that happened in this Belmont community and now neighbors there say they're on high alert.
"Back to back, it hasn’t even been a week yet, neighbor Jovan Kelly said. "So for that to happen and then another situation like that happens right up the street, it’s just like what’s going on in Charlotte right now or North Carolina. At this point, it’s like you have to have your gun on you just to check the mail."
Another neighbor, Eric Miller, described the neighborhood as "quiet and nice."
"It took everybody by shock last night," Miller said.

Police said they do not believe this incident was related to the apparent drive-by shooting nearby late Sunday night. Dozens of shots were fired outside a home in that incident.
