1 dead, 4 injured in west Charlotte shooting, police say

A 29-year-old man was killed and a 17-year-old was seriously hurt in the shooting, CMPD said.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is conducting a third homicide investigation in under a day in west Charlotte Monday night.

Around 9 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a call about a shooting on Parker Drive near Remount Road in west Charlotte. Police arrived to find two victims who had been shot. One victim died at the hospital and the other was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other victims of the same shooting took themselves to the hospital. One is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries and the other is suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The person who died has since been identified as 29-year-old LaMarcus Jackson. 

The three who were hurt are 23, 17 and 20. 

WCNC Charlotte has reached out to CMPD for more details about the investigation. It is unknown at this time if a suspect has been identified.

This is the third homicide investigation in Charlotte in under a day. Early Monday morning, CMPD found a man, who had been shot and killed, outside of a disabled car on Rea Road. 

Another deadly shooting happened Monday evening in north Charlotte on Cinnabay Drive.
